A Background Built in the Wild

ABOUT RENÉE ERDMAN

I am a creative strategist and visual storyteller based in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. My work sits at the intersection of professional design, marketing strategy, and a lifelong commitment to wildlife advocacy.

With over 25 years of experience in content production and design, I have spent my career helping brands tell their stories. My path has taken me from serving as a sea captain and park ranger to working as a wildlife guide and professional dog behavior specialist. These roles provided me with a firsthand understanding of the delicate balance between human activity and habitat preservation.

Creative Strategy for Conservation
I specialize in helping non-profits, resource practitioners, and ethical small businesses navigate the complexities of modern communication. My approach is heart-centred and authentic. I reject high-pressure sales tactics in favour of clear, honest, and impactful visual storytelling.

Recently, I have focused on bridging the gap between scientific data and public engagement. My studies in Biology and Sociology at the university level, combined with a UBC Forestry certificate in Communication Strategies, allow me to translate technical concepts into accessible marketing and graphic design.

Why Work With Me?
When you collaborate with me, you are working with a veteran creative who understands your subject matter. Whether I am designing a visual advocacy campaign or building a marketing strategy for a local organization, my goal is the same. I want to defend the wild through ethical stewardship and professional artistry.

I am a proud member of the Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective and an advocate for ethical wildlife imagery. When I am not in the studio, you will likely find me in the forest with my dog or capturing the quiet moments of the British Columbia coast.
